Energy input and response from prompt and early optical afterglow emission in [gamma]-ray bursts
Article Abstract:
Observations of a bright [gamma]-ray burst (GRB) that, for the first time, clearly showed the temporal relationship and relative strength of the prompt and early afterglow emission are reported. Measurements of the reverberation and temporal variations of GRB, which are known to signal the death of massive stars, can be used to map out the nurseries of the earliest stars.

An infrared flash contemporaneous with the gamma-rays of GRB 041219a
Article Abstract:
The discovery of infrared emission contemporaneous with a gamma-ray burst is described which begins 7.2 minutes after the onset of GRB 041219a. Analysis of the initial pulse suggests an origin consistent with internal shocks.

A link between prompt optical and prompt gamma-ray emission in gamma ray bursts
Article Abstract:
The prompt optical emission from gamma-ray burst (GRB) 041219a is described which is variable and correlated with the prompt gamma-rays. The correlated optical emission is a direct probe of the jet isolated from the medium.
